FAQ’s about TEFL and the Training
Is it difficult?
Don’t forget, we’re here to make you successful! Our classes will demand some serious studying, of course. But then we also do much of the work in class with you or in groups. The subject matter and your work are likely to have many challenges for you. For this, we ask that you apply yourself, and we’ll give you the best tools and knowledge we can with our combined decades of experience doing this. We’re dedicated to making this the most fun, enjoyable, and well-rounded program out there! What if i’m close to coming, but still a little scared to go for it?
Imagine you had several friends who were already living in Thailand teaching English and they wanted to share their collected knowledge with you so that you could do the same. That would make the jump to teach English in Asia and travel a lot easier wouldn’t it? Well, that’s what we’re here to do! That’s why we’ll have real teachers come in to model lessons for you, it’s why we’re creating an online forum for ideas, and it’s why we’re making videos to teach and inspire you! Will you guarantee me a job ?
We have relationships built over the years with nearly every important school in Chiang Mai, and then others throughout Thailand and greater Asia. When we said your success will be our success, we meant it. We do our best to get placement for every one of our students wherever he or she wishes to go work. For our students with professional attitudes and motivation, a placement is assured. How will I find a place to live ?
As we mention in our Chiang Mai As a Mecca Article, our city is thriving with plenty of great affordable housing available for students coming here to earn their TEFL certificates. You’ll find that our school is located right near the internationally recognized Chiang Mai University Campus, and that there are tons of choices in the area for convenient lodging while studying with us. Plenty of rental options are right near the TEFL Experts school, as well as just a few minutes’ walk from food, shopping, and cool hangout spots. (We’re also here to help you find something close-by that suits your needs if you’d like assistance.)What about transportation ?
Getting around Chiang Mai is easy in a variety of cost-efficient and convenient ways. Many people do just fine without driving here, simply getting around on foot and using low-cost public transportation is all you’ll really need while you study with us . Our location is on a main road where colorful tuk-tuks (3-wheel taxis) and rumbling songthaews (red trucks) come passing by every few minutes, and they’ll get you where you want to go. If you prefer getting around on your own wheels, there are a few options. Some people choose to rent bicycles from any of the guesthouses around town, while others will choose to rent a motorbike – known locally as a ‘motosai.’ Both allow for more freedom to explore town and the surrounding hills. Weekend adventures await…What kind of jobs are there?
Asia has been making a major push at improving its citizens’ English language skills for years now. Today, there are opportunities in the many public, private, and seemingly countless small language schools throughout Asia for native English speakers. You’ll find that there are all kinds of great places to work around town and there’s always a hunt for new talent. We expect our students to come out ready for any number of exciting jobs in schools, private tutoring, as well as becoming university lecturers or conducting staff training in local organizations.
